Cote Dame Marie Ski Loppet

The Cote Dame Marie Ski Loppet is a cross-country skiing event held at the Hanson Hills Recreation Area in Grayling, Michigan. The event features several race distances and styles across a loop trail system. The start line is located behind the softball field, while the finish line is situated at the base of the ski hill behind the main lodge.

Participants can choose from various distances and categories:

  • 22 km Skate Race (Open and 19-under)
  • 11 km Skate Race (Open and 19-under)
  • 5 km Junior Race for boys and girls
  • 5 km Citizen Skate Race
  • 5 km Citizen Classic Race

The course layout varies by distance. The 11 km races consist of a single lap, while the 22 km race requires two laps, incorporating the Guyton snowshoe trail and the Blue uphill section. The 5 km Citizens Classic course is prepared with a classic track for the entire duration.

All participants receive chip timing with the sensor attached to the race bib. Results are posted periodically at the lodge during the event. Registration and packet pick-up occur on the morning of the race inside the Hanson Hills Recreation Area lodge. All finishers receive a souvenir medal and a printed finish time receipt. Trail running event in Grayling, Michigan on June 6, 2026, with a 3 mile-ish and a 5 mile two-track course. Online and day-of registration fees differ; the 3-mile allows walkers while the 5-mile is for runners only.
