Coon Hollow

Coon Hollow is a trail race held at the Coon Hollow Trailhead near Rockerville, South Dakota. The event is scheduled for April 25, 2026. The course is a figure eight that follows gravel road, technical dirt single track, and the historic flume trail.

The race is listed as a 10k but the actual distance is closer to 12k, about 7.5 miles. Elevation gain is about 1200 feet, with most of the gain occurring in the first half and flatter sections later in the course.

The event includes a registration fee with a club discount for members and higher day of pricing paid in cash. Participants age 16 and under may enter for free but do not receive event swag. The trailhead is small, so carpooling is advised. Directions from Rapid City are to drive west on US 16 to Rockerville, then turn right on Silver Mountain Road; the trailhead is roughly a quarter mile off US 16.
