Event Overview

The Conquer the Hill Race and Family Trail Run takes place in the Wayne National Forest in Ironton, Ohio. This event serves as a fundraiser for the SCCA Cross Country Teams. Participants can choose between two main distances that utilize different terrains within the forest area.

Course Details

The event features two distinct courses:

  • 5K Conquer the Hill: A hilly road race that begins and ends at the Vesuvius Boat Dock. The route passes through the Oak Hill Campground.
  • Family Trail Run: A 1 mile course designed for walkers and runners on trail terrain.

Awards and Recognition

For the 5 km road race, medals are awarded to the first overall male and female finishers. Additionally, medals are presented to the first, second, and third-place finishers in various male and female age groups.

The 1 mile Family Trail Run provides medals for the top three male and female finishers. Every child participating in this event receives a participant medal. The event also offers student rates for registration and includes the option for participants to donate to the supported cross country teams.
