Conestoga Crusher Trail Race
The Conestoga Crusher offers trail running events through the Kelly's Run Nature Preserve and parts of the Conestoga Trail in Holtwood, Pennsylvania. All participants start and finish at Kelly's Run Nature Preserve. The courses feature a mix of single and double track trails, creek crossings, and steep ascents.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 10 km Trail Race
- 5 km Trail Race
- 1.5 miles Kids Trail Race
The 10 km course includes 1,256 feet of vertical gain and passes through the Pinnacle Overlook, providing views of the Susquehanna River. The 5 km route stays within the Kelly's Run gorge and is designed for those looking for a shorter trail experience. Both the 5 km and 10 km races are open to participants aged 10 and older. The "Little Crusher" is a free event for children aged 12 and under, covering approximately 1.5 miles of wooded terrain with rocks and roots.
The event utilizes professional chip timing. An aid station at the Pinnacle Overlook for the 10 km race provides water, sports drinks, and snacks. A finish line aid station serves all participants. Parking is available at the nature preserve, with additional satellite parking located at 9 New Village Rd. A portion of the proceeds from the event supports the Lancaster Conservancy.
