Community Traverse - Sprint 70KM

The Sprint 70KM follows a condensed section of Wainwrights Coast to Coast route across the Lake District, running from St Bees to Patterdale. The route combines coastal paths, steep climbs, rocky descents and mountain terrain; sections are way marked but participants should not rely on way marks alone. Weather can cause widely varying conditions.

The event includes structured checkpoints at Ennerdale, Borrowdale and Patterdale (finish). Checkpoints provide water, hot food with vegan and gluten free options, snacks and race nutrition, indoor access, toilet facilities and first aid support. A GPX file and final route details will be issued in advance.

This is a mountain event with an overall cut off of 18 hours. A mandatory kit list applies and live tracking is used for all participants; trackers must be returned. Participants must follow the route, report withdrawals to race control and be capable of maintaining forward progress within cut offs. Minimum age is 20 on the event date. Entry fee is £55 and the event is scheduled for 20 March 2027 with entries open from 27 April 2026 to 1 March 2027.

The event is officially registered with the International Trail Running Association and finishing participants earn ITRA endurance points. Community Traverse is founded to provide accessible and inclusive endurance events and to manage event provision and safety. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
