Community Traverse - Sprint 70KM

The Sprint 70KM is presented as an entry point for Coast2Coast series challengers and follows a condensed section of Wainwright’s Coast to Coast route across the Lake District. The route starts at St Bees and finishes in Patterdale, and includes coastal paths, steep climbs, rocky descents, and mountain terrain. Conditions can vary depending on weather.

The route is way-marked in sections but participants should not rely solely on way-marking for navigation. A GPX file and final route details will be provided in advance of the event. Structured checkpoints are placed along the route, with key locations including Ennerdale, Borrowdale, and Patterdale (finish). Checkpoints provide water, hot food with vegan and gluten-free options, snacks and race nutrition, indoor access, toilets, and first aid support.

The overall event cut-off is 18 hours; individual checkpoint cut-offs will be detailed in the final race pack. Live tracking will be used for all participants and trackers must be returned after the event. A mandatory kit list applies and full race details, checkpoint breakdown, cut-offs, and kit requirements will be issued before race day. The event is registered with the International Trail Running Association and finishers earn ITRA endurance points. Entry opens 27 April 2026 and closes 1 March 2027; minimum age is 20 and the entry fee is £55. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
