Commando Series at Hever Castle

The Commando Series is an obstacle mud run held at Hever Castle, Kent on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October 2026. The course is built to recreate elements of Royal Marines Commando training and combines mud, obstacles, and teamwork. The event includes a two hour survival experience within the castle grounds and an event village with a climbing wall, live music, a fully stocked bar, and access to the historic castle.

Participants can choose from these distances:

  • 3K for ages 7 and above; adult required for ages 7 to 10.
  • 6K including a junior option for ages 8 to 15; adult entries for 16 and over.
  • 12K two laps of the Commando Course.

Course and entry details include obstacle counts and age limits. The 6K course features 26 obstacles. The 12K route involves two laps and around 51 obstacles. Junior entries have age limits and supervision rules; under 11s must be accompanied by an adult at a 1:3 ratio where specified. Standard entry prices listed are: Adult 12K £100, Adult 6K £80, Junior 6K £45, and 3K £40. A GOLD TICKET upgrade is offered for £30; it adds 21 lbs of extra kit, webbing and a wooden rifle, a hot ration pack on finish, and access to a 2 hour survival course for participants aged 16 and over. A 15 mile trail run from the beer garden of the Ye Olde Smugglers Inne in Alfriston with two pub checkpoints offering a drink and snack; route GPX and a race narrative are provided and results appear within 24 hours.

Trail event in the South Downs offering 28 miles and 18 miles routes with 4000 plus ft or 2800 plus ft ascent. Routes pass Seven Sisters, Cuckmere Haven and downland villages and are open to walkers and runners.

An approximately 8 kilometre trail loop around Icklesham with over 75 percent trail, a fully marked and marshalled course, prizes for first male and female, and tea and cake in the hall afterwards.

A 100 mile continuous Thames Path race from Richmond to Oxford, mostly on groomed trails and riverside paths. The route gains about 1 900 ft, includes aid stations and mandatory kit checks, and must be completed within 30 hours.
