Cold Coding

Cold Coding is a running event organized by TYDISH Running at Lake Geneva Ziplines and Adventures, located at N3232 County Road H in Lake Geneva, WI. The event uses a 4 mile loop on zipline grounds and offers options for one or two loops.

  • 4 miles (one loop)
  • 8 miles (two loops)

The event emphasizes Canicross, a dog powered running discipline where a runner is attached hands free to a dog using a bungee style line and waist belt. A dog friendly option allows a dog on a y shaped harness and a handheld leash. Participants without dogs may register as a "Soulo" runner.

The course follows winding, technical singletrack with some bridges used by mountain bikes. The 4 mile loop records about 463 ft of ascent and 479 ft of descent. The grounds are not closed to other visitors, so participants should yield to others encountered on the trails.

Top three men and women overall finishers in each distance are eligible for awards only if they run with a dog. Participants who shorten their preselected distance are ineligible for podium standings. All finishers receive a nonmedal finisher gift.

On course provisions include water and an electrolyte drink refill; participants should provide a personal hydration vessel. A drop bag table is available for multiple loop runners. Alcohol and noise makers such as cowbells are not permitted. A Leave No Trace policy applies and disrespectful behavior may result in disqualification.
