Cold Coding

Cold Coding is a dog friendly trail running event held at Lake Geneva Ziplines and Adventures, located at N3232 County Road H, Lake Geneva, WI. The organizer offers a looped course on the zipline grounds with technical singletrack and shared mountain bike bridges. The 4 mile loop has 463 feet of ascent and 479 feet of descent.

The event emphasizes Canicross, a discipline in which a runner is attached hands free to a dog using a bungee style line and waist belt. Participants may also use a y shaped harness with a hand held leash; that arrangement is described as dog friendly rather than Canicross. Runners without dogs may register as solo participants.

Entrants receive drinks, snacks, and a finisher gift; shirts and other swag are not included by default. Podium awards are given to the top three women and men overall in each distance, but only teams running with a dog are eligible for those awards. Runners who shorten their selected distance become ineligible for podium standings. Registration opens on April 13, 2026.

On course, water and an electrolyte drink will be available but single use disposable cups will not be provided. No alcohol is served, and noise makers such as cowbells are not permitted. Participants and their crews are expected to follow Leave No Trace principles. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
