City of the Sun 5K Trail Run 2026
The City of the Sun 5K Trail Run is an annual fundraiser held on November 8, 2026, at Cahokia Mounds State Historic Site in Collinsville, Illinois. The site address is 30 Ramey St., Collinsville, IL 62234.
The event features a 5K (3.1 mile) trail route that passes through paved, wooded, grassy, and at times muddy terrain. The course leads participants through sections of the site that are not part of the regular visitor route.
Registration options shown include individual registration for $30 and a family registration for $50. Packet pickup is available on November 6 and November 7 during gift shop hours and on race morning at the Interpretive Center. Timing is provided by Toolen's Running Start of Shiloh, Illinois.
Awards include overall male and female winners and first through third place in each division. Age divisions are 19 and Under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and Up. Parking is free in the main lot. A featured snack provider is Curmbl Cookies of Shiloh, Illinois. The event is organized by the Cahokia Mounds Museum Society and all proceeds fund community outreach and educational programs at Cahokia Mounds State Historic Site.
