Event Information
The Cirque Series event in Snowbird, Utah, features a mountain running course. Participants compete in three ability-based divisions: Sport, Expert, and Pro.
Course Details
The course is 8.9 miles long and includes 3,610 feet of climbing. It starts at the Creekside base area. The route climbs towards Mid-Gad, uses Rothman Way and the Peruvian Gulch Trail, passes the Ridge trail and Hidden Peak, summits Mt. Baldy, and returns via Peruvian Gulch to finish at Creekside. A strict two-hour cut-off time is enforced at the Hidden Peak summit, requiring runners who miss it to take the tram down.
Hydration is provided at two aid stations and the finish line. The event emphasizes environmental stewardship with rules against littering and trespassing.
Divisions and Awards
The divisions have specific participant criteria. The Sport category is for those with less mountain running experience. The Expert category is for those with significant mountain experience and competent running skills. The Pro category is for professional or sponsored athletes.
Prizes are awarded for each race and for an overall series ranking. The prize structure includes cash and gear rewards for the top three finishers in each division per race. Additional recognition awards are given for the youngest competitor, the "wisest" competitor, an unofficial MVP, and the person finishing in the exact middle of the field.
An overall series ranking uses a points system for the top 20 finishers in each event. Competitors who run six races in the 2026 Cirque Series will receive a commemorative belt buckle.
Logistics
The race has a cap of 500 total entries. Registration costs $99 per participant, with an additional $2 Forest Service fee. Bibs use a disposable timing chip. Packet pickup is available the day before the race and on race morning.
The organizers state that registration is non-transferable and non-refundable. The event could be canceled, rerouted, or rescheduled for safety reasons. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
