Cirque Series Killington
The Cirque Series event at Killington, Vermont on June 27, 2026 is a mountain trail race of 8.2 miles with approximately 3,010 ft of elevation gain. The course begins at the base of the K-1 Gondola and finishes at the K-1 Lodge, and it summits three of Killington Resort’s six peaks, including Snowdon Peak and Killington Peak (4,241 ft). The route runs counterclockwise from the K-1 Base Area, ascending a service road to Bunny Buster, passing Snowdon Peak (3,592 ft), then following Great Northern, Ridge Run and Catwalk to the Killington Peak summit.
Aid Station #1 sits at mile 3.16 after a short descent and metal stairs and offers views of the Green Mountains. The descent continues on service and 4x4 roads before joining the Bear Cub trail toward Needle’s Eye. Aid Station #2 is located at the base of Needle’s Eye. The final quarter mile ascent up Needle’s Eye reaches a 45 percent grade; runners descend Bittersweet to return to the K-1 Lodge.
The course lies within Green Mountain National Forest and is marked with orange flagging; runners are instructed to follow the marked route for safety. Conditions may include steep, rocky, grassy, wet and slippery terrain. A strict summit cut-off of 1:30 hours applies at Killington Peak; competitors missing the cut-off are subject to chairlift descent. The field is capped at 700 runners.
