Course and logistics

The course starts and finishes at the K-1 base area of Killington Resort and runs counterclockwise, summiting three of the resort’s six peaks including Snowden Peak (3,592 ft) and Killington Peak (4,242 ft). The route uses service roads, named trails (Buster Bunny, Great Northern Trail, Cat Walk, Bear Trax, Bear Cub, Bearly), and a final climb called Needle's Eye, a quarter-mile section reported at about a 45% grade. Aid stations are located near mile 3.16 and mile 6.6, with hydration also at the finish.

The course lies within the Green Mountain National Forest. Organizers state the terrain can be steep, rocky, grassy, wet and slippery and that the route will be marked with orange flagging. Competitors are subject to a strict summit cut-off at Killington Peak (1:30 hr) and those who miss the cut-off will use the chairlift to descend. Timing uses a disposable chip on the back of the bib. Packet pickup is available the day before and on race morning at the K1 Lodge. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
