Circle of the Dragon

Circle of the Dragon is a 12 hour endurance run held May 9, 2026 at Bonita Lakes Park boat landing in Meridian, MS. Participants run repeated laps of a 4.6 mile loop around the big lake on the Jeep trail road. The course features rolling and increasingly challenging hills; it is not single track and offers generally easy footing and scenic views.

There is one official aid station at the loop start and a UTV will rove the course to offer assistance. Organizers provide food, drinks, snacks, GU and Tailwind at the Start/Finish area. Runners must bring a water bottle or hydration pack to refill from provided liquids. All gel packs and wrappers should be carried back to the Start/Finish area for disposal.

A separate Turtle Level is new for 2026. Turtle Level is a two loop only division totaling 9.2 miles; it is separate from the main endurance division and does not permit continuation beyond two loops. Timing for all laps is by RFID chip with lap splits recorded.

Award structure and milestones are based on laps completed. All participants who complete four full loops receive the Circle of the Dragon 12 Hour Endurance Run medal. Overall winners are determined by most loops completed within the 12 hour window with time serving as the tie breaker when needed.
