Christopher Walden Hilltop 5K

This event is a run and hike at Hilltop Ski Area in Anchorage, Alaska to raise funds for the Christopher Walden House of Hope and Hilltop Ski Area. The course follows short trails through the woods and includes repeated climbs and descents with views from the top.

The course distance is 5K (3.1 miles) and has 1288 feet of elevation change. The route includes ups and downs on trail terrain and is open to runner hikers and children aged 5 and older.

The event is offered in three formats: in person, virtual, and a student entry. Registration fees listed are $40 for the in person and virtual entries and $25 for the student entry. Registration windows provided are: in person opens 2026-06-09 and closes 2026-07-25; virtual opens 2026-06-11 and closes 2026-07-25; student registration opens 2026-05-19 and closes 2026-08-08.

Packet pickup for the in person event is at Skinny Raven, 800 H Street, Anchorage, on 2026-08-06. Virtual entries receive mailed event packets and may complete their 5K between 2026-08-08 and 2026-08-16. Virtual participants may submit a time or indicate completion without a time.

A virtual run safety policy asks participants to follow pedestrian safety rules, use sidewalks where available, and run against traffic where no sidewalk or multi use trail exists. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
