Anchorage United Nations Run : 2025 event status

The 2025 Anchorage United Nations Run was cancelled due to an error in the permitting office that delayed approval. The organizers plan to hold the event next year on September 26, 2026.

Purpose, format and supporters

The event is a fundraiser for Anchorage School District language immersion programs. It is organized by MIR Parents in collaboration with other ASD language immersion programs. The run takes place along the coastal trail and offers the following distances:

  • 2K
  • 5K

Proceeds support classroom and library materials, after-school K-6 learning programs, cultural events, and a student exchange program. The 2024 event listed community and business supporters, including Spinell Homes, Hutchings & Associates CPAs, Northern Roof Systems, Spenard Builders Supply, Katmai Eye and Vision Center, Northern Smile Orthodontics, The Alaska Club, Kaladi Brothers, Healthy Futures, Great Harvest Bread Co, Turnagain Running Club, Turnagain United Methodist Church, and the UAA Track and Field Team.
