Chenarr Rogaine

Pegram, United States • 7 Mar 2026

Event overview

The CheNarr Rogaine takes place on March 7, 2026 in Pegram, Tennessee. It is organized by HardWin Adventures and co-hosted by the Nashville Orienteering Club. The event is an 8-hour rogaine held in the Cheatham Wildlife Management Area. The course is unmarked and navigation-based; participants must use maps and compasses and travel on foot. The start location is 2150 Sams Creek Road, Pegram, TN 37143.

Race format, divisions and scoring

The event is team-based but allows solo entries. Divisions include co-ed teams, all-male teams, all-female teams, and male and female solo divisions. Most checkpoints are optional; the first and last checkpoints are required for an official finish. Winners are the teams or solos who return with the most checkpoints; finishing time is used as a tiebreaker. Penalties apply for late returns: one checkpoint is deducted for arriving after the finish and one additional checkpoint is deducted for every five minutes thereafter.

Logistics, tracking and required gear

One GPS tracker is provided per team or solo for live tracking and post-race download. Use of GPS-capable devices for navigation is prohibited; phones are allowed for emergency calls only and should otherwise be off. Mandatory personal gear includes a backpack, emergency space blanket, food, water (minimum 70 oz capacity), headlamp or flashlight with extra batteries, and a whistle. Each team must carry a compass, duct tape (min 5'), a first aid kit, knife (min 3" blade), lighter or waterproof matches, water purification, a fully charged phone in a waterproof container, the race-provided GPS tracker, maps, and passport. Awards are given to category winners and top finishers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
