Chemin-A-Haut 4 Mile Trail Run

Chemin-A-Haut 4 Mile Trail Run and 1 Mile Walk - Bastrop, LA

The event takes place at Chemin-A-Haut State Park in Bastrop, Louisiana, and marks the tenth year for the run and walk. Routes follow natural trails through forests and along lakeshore and bayou, using the same corridor that was used by Native Americans centuries ago. Handmade medallions and awards are produced from cypress wood.

Registration windows and fees vary by date. For the 4 Mile Run the fee is $30 from July 1 through August 31, and $40 from September 1 through October 10; run registration is not available October 11 through October 16. For the 1 Mile Walk the fee is $25 from July 1 through August 31, and $35 from September 1 through October 10; walk registration is not available October 12 through October 16. To be guaranteed a T-shirt, registration must be completed before October 1, 2026.

Race awards include Top Overall male and female and 1st and 2nd place for men and women in the following age groups: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over. Participants are encouraged to register with a team; team contests include Most Team Members, Most Spirited, and Most Creatively Dressed.

Proceeds support Morehouse Parish projects including Chemin-A-Haut State Park, Bussey Brake Reservoir, Morehouse Memorial Airport, the Rose Theatre, the new Louisiana Delta Community College Bastrop campus, and the Bastrop Animal Shelter.
