Chemin-A-Haut 4 Mile Trail Run and 1 Mile Walk

The Chemin-A-Haut 4 Mile Trail Run and 1 Mile Walk is scheduled for 10/17/2026 at 14656 State Park Rd., Bastrop, Louisiana. The event marks its tenth year and takes place on natural trails in one of the oldest parks in Louisiana. The route follows trails through towering forests and along scenic lakeshore and bayou and uses the same corridor run by Native Americans centuries ago.

• 4 Miles - trail run
• 1 Mile - walk

Awards for the run include Top Overall Male and Female and first and second place for men and women in these age groups: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & over. Hand-made medallions and awards are produced from cypress wood.

Participants are encouraged to register with a team. Teams compete for Most Team Members, Most Spirited, and Most Creatively Dressed. Proceeds from the event are directed to Morehouse Parish projects, including Chemin-A-Haut State Park, Bussey Brake, Morehouse Memorial Airport, the Rose Theatre, the new Louisiana Delta Community College Bastrop campus, and the Bastrop Animal Shelter operated by the Morehouse Humane Society.
