Chemin-A-Haut 4 Mile Trail Run

Event details

The Chemin-A-Haut Trail event is scheduled for October 18, 2025 in Bastrop, Louisiana (14656 State Park Rd., 71220). The 2025 edition will be the ninth year the event is held. The event takes place on natural trails through forest, along lakeshore and bayou, and uses a route that organizers say was used by Native Americans centuries ago. Awards include hand-made medallions and trophies made from cypress wood. Teams may register and compete for categories such as Most Team Members, Most Spirited, and Most Creatively Dressed.

Registration and proceeds

Online registration includes an early-bird period that ends August 31; registration fees increase after that date. The deadline for online registration is October 12, and online registration is not available from October 13 through October 18. Organizers state that event proceeds are used by MITA to fund Morehouse Parish projects, including support for Chemin-A-Haut State Park, Bussey Brake Reservoir, the Morehouse Memorial Airport, the Rose Theatre, the new Bastrop campus of Louisiana Delta Community College, and the Bastrop Animal Shelter operated by the Morehouse Humane Society.
