The venue includes an 8-mile trail that follows the top of the reservoir levee. The course is described as very flat with uneven sections, holes, and large ant piles. Discounts are offered via codes: Military 25% for active and retired, First Responders 25%, and Donor 10%; proof must be provided within 24 hours of signup.
The race-name references local folklore: the pere malfait is a Cajun swamp creature, a large humanoid covered in Spanish moss that sometimes leaves a pile of moss when it vanishes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
