Pére Malfait Trail Race

Pere Malfait Trail Race takes place at Bussey Brake Wildlife Management Area, five miles northwest of Bastrop, Louisiana. Distances are 50K, 16 miles, and 8 miles. The 8-mile course circles Bussey Brake Reservoir atop the levee, largely flat with some terrain; the front is sun-exposed, the back shaded, with holes and large ant piles along the trail.

Two aid stations provide iced drinks, electrolytes, snacks; the start/finish is fully manned with hot food. Louisiana folklore Pere Malfait adds local atmosphere. Swag includes a long-sleeve shirt, socks, and a portable charger; all finishers receive medals, with top finishers earning special medals.
