The Pére Malfait Trail Race offers three distances: 50K, 16 Miler, and 8 Miler. The event takes place at the Bussey Brake Wildlife Management Area near Bastrop, Louisiana.

Course Information

The race uses the Bussey Brake Trail, an 8-mile loop around the Bussey Brake Reservoir. The trail is described as very flat and is open to non-motorized uses. The terrain includes holes and large ant piles. The front side of the course is exposed to the sun, while the back side offers shade. Two aid stations are provided: a fully manned station at the start/finish area with hot food, and an on-course station around the 4-mile mark offering ice, water, electrolytes, and snacks.

Participant Information

All participants will receive a finisher medal. The top three male and female finishers in each distance will receive a custom plaque. Registration discounts are available for military personnel (active and retired), first responders, and donors, with proof required within 24 hours of signing up.

The event is held at Bussey Brake WMA, located 5 miles northwest of Bastrop. Two parking areas are available on the west side of Bonner Ferry Road (LA Hwy 593).
