Wendover Woods 50

The Wendover Woods 50 is a 50 mile foot race made up of five 10 mile loops entirely within Wendover Woods. The route runs on forest trails and tracks, approximately 99% trail and 1% road, and includes 10,000 feet of ascent and 10,000 feet of descent. The course combines wide, soft trails with smooth, runnable climbs and descents alongside a number of much steeper ascents and descents.

Support on course includes nine well stocked aid stations, full medical cover and a marked route. The event is held under a UK Athletics permit through the TRA. The race has a 15 hour overall cut off and additional cut offs at aid stations. Start, finish and registration are at Trig Point Field, Aston Hill, Halton, Aylesbury HP22 5NQ. The field of starters is limited; the published number of starters is 250. The minimum age for entry is 20.

Entries open on a first come first served basis on 6 December 2025; there is no waiting list and no entries on the day. To enter competitors must meet the organiser qualification standard by having completed at least a marathon distance within the event cut off between 1 January 2021 and race day. Pacers and crew are not permitted. Drop bags may be deposited at registration, must be labelled and must not exceed 50 litres. Mandatory kit requirements include a charged mobile phone, survival blanket, whistle, waterproof jacket with sealed seams, warm hat, gloves, a dry long sleeved top for emergencies and a personal cup.
