Wendover Woods 50

The Wendover Woods 50 is a 50 mile foot race held entirely within Wendover Woods. The route comprises five 10 mile loops on forest trails and tracks, with 99% trail and 1% road. The course includes 10,000 ft of ascent and 10,000 ft of descent and mixes wide soft trails and runnable climbs with several steeper ascents and descents.

The route is marked with recycled Tyvek pink ribbons and pink marker arrows. There are a small number of road crossings that will not all be marshalled. The start and finish area also serves as an aid station and is visited on each lap; the Hale Lane aid station falls around mile 5.5 of each lap and is visited on every loop.

Runners are supported by nine well stocked aid stations offering a range of provisions with vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options, plus hot drinks. Medical cover is provided with a static team at the start and finish and a roving team in the woods; remote sections may take longer for medics to reach.

Entry is subject to a qualification standard requiring completion of at least a marathon within the event cutoff between 1 January 2021 and race day. The field is limited and the entry fee is stated as £115. Pacers and crew are not permitted; supporters are allowed on course except at the Hale Lane aid station. Drop bags must be labelled and must not exceed 50 litres. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
