Event details

Centurion Running stages the Wendover Woods 50 on 15 Nov 2025. The race distance is 50 mi (81 km) with approximately 10,000 ft (3050 m) of ascent and descent. The course is almost entirely trail - listed as 99% trail and 1% road - and is located in Wendover Woods, South-East England (Trig Point Field, Aston Hill, Halton, Aylesbury). Entry fee is £115 and the field is limited to 250 starters. The overall time limit for the course is 15 hours. Course marking and medical support are provided.

Course, support and rules

The route is five 10-mile loops on forest trails and tracks. There are 9 aid stations, including the start/finish location and Hale Lane (visited on each loop). Aid stations offer a range of foods and drinks including vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. Drop/finish bags may be left at registration, are accessible after each loop, and must be clearly labelled; maximum bag size 50 litres.

Runners must meet a qualification standard of a completed marathon within the cut-off time between 1 Jan 2020 and race day. Pacers and crew are not permitted. The event is cupless, so runners must carry their own cup. A list of mandatory kit is required to be carried at all times, including a fully charged mobile phone, survival blanket, whistle, waterproof jacket, warm hat, gloves, a long sleeve base layer kept dry, and appropriate lighting for later loops.
