The route follows the chalk ridgeway and the majority of the course is on the South Downs Way National Trail, finishing in the event field at Queen Elizabeth Country Park after the descent from Butser Hill. The course features approximately 1150 m of climb and is composed of about 80% trail and 20% road.

The event includes four fully stocked aid stations, full medical support with roving teams and a static finish medic, and a marked course using Centurion ribbons and marker arrows. There is a 9 hour overall cut off and additional intermediate cut offs at aid stations. Live tracking is provided. The field is limited to 400 starters and entries open on 19 July 2026. The minimum age is 20 in line with UKA rules and there are no qualification standards.

Runners may camp overnight at the start area. Finishers receive a medal and hot drinks and food are provided at the finish. Pacers and crew are not permitted. Mandatory kit checks will be carried out and a one hour time penalty applies if required items are missing.
