Castle to River Run

The Castle to River Run takes place in Garrison, NY and includes multiple distances on courses that pass through the Hudson Highlands and down to the Hudson River. The event is a fundraiser for The Friends of Philipstown Recreation, a 501c3 organization that supports recreation programs and facilities in Cold Spring, Garrison, Nelsonville and Continental Village.

The half marathon route uses a mix of single track, double track, dirt roads and some paved sections, with mostly runnable terrain and several longer technical stretches and hills. The course passes the Osborn Castle and follows the Castle driveway with access to private property granted only for registered runners on race day; spectators are not allowed on those private sections. The 5K is a flattish loop on dirt single track and grass with a couple of hills. The kids run takes place on the recreation center grounds and runs through fall foliage.

There is one aid station on the half marathon course that runners pass twice, offering water, sports drink and basic food items; there is no aid station on the 5K. Parking and race operations are based at the Philipstown Recreation Department at 107 Glenclyffe Drive. Race shirts are provided to entrants with size guaranteed for those registered by October 4.
