The Castle to River Run takes place Sunday, October 19, 2025, in Garrison, New York, with start and finish at the Philipstown Recreation Department, 107 Glenclyffe Drive. The event includes the following races:

The run is a fundraiser for The Friends of Philipstown Recreation, a 501(c)(3) organization that supports recreational programs and facilities in Cold Spring, Garrison, Nelsonville and Continental Village. Entry fees listed are $60 for the 1/2 marathon, $40 for the 5K, and $5 for the kids fun run (kids run is race-day only). Active military, veterans, and first responders receive a 20% discount. All entrants will receive a race t-shirt; registering by October 4 guarantees a shirt in the requested size.

Course and logistics

The 1/2 marathon course mixes single track, double track, dirt road, and some paved sections, with mostly runnable terrain and some technical stretches and hills. The 5K is a flattish loop on dirt single trail and grass with a few hills. The 1/2 marathon has one aid station accessed twice around mile 5.5 and mile 8; there is no aid station on the 5K.

The course passes private property, including the Castle and Forest Farm Road. Only registered runners are allowed on those private sections during the race and spectators are not allowed there. Parking is at the Philipstown Recreation Department. The race is rain or shine; refunds are only issued if the organizers cancel the event. The 1/2 marathon has a finish cut-off of 1:00 pm.
