Ceiriog Canter : Canolfan Ceiriog Centre

Ceiriog Canter is a fell run held at the Canolfan Ceiriog Centre in Glyn Ceiriog on 26th September 2026. The event is listed as Category B Medium and covers 11.6 km (7.2 miles) with a total climb of 425 m (1395 ft). The minimum entry age is 18 and there is no junior race.

Registration is open on the day from 1pm with an entry fee of £6 payable on the day. A course map will be provided to competitors. Recorded course times include a men’s best of 49.24 set in 2023 and a women’s best of 58.44 set in 2023.

Runners are asked to bring and be prepared to carry kit recommended by the WFRA. Examples listed by the organisers include windproof full body cover, other weather appropriate body cover such as waterproof full body cover, hat, gloves, map, compass and whistle. Carrying required kit may be enforced if conditions are very poor.

The centre provides refreshments and post‑race facilities including fresh soup, homemade cakes, showers and changing rooms. The event has relied on marshals and volunteers in previous years and race reports and results from past editions are available from the organisers. Nant Gain is a 7.6 km fell race around Cilcain with 370 m of ascent, night registration at The White Horse Pub and a £3 entry on the night. Parking is limited so car sharing and use of the viewpoint car park are recommended.

Free women only trail meet up on 28 June 2027 offering social runs of 5 to 10 km led by SheUltra Ambassadors. Loggerheads session includes a 10 km route; places are limited and parking is pay and display.

An approximately four mile multi terrain race on 2 July 2026, starting and finishing at Care & Repair on Rowley’s Drive in Shotton. Entry is £10 or £8 for affiliated club members and prizes are given across all age categories.

A 6.7 km fell race around the Stiperstones from Snailbeach with 375 m of ascent, steady climbs and mixed descents. Entries are available by pre-entry or on the evening and proceeds support local charities and Natural England.
