Buffalo Run Trail Race

The Buffalo Run Trail Race takes place on Antelope Island in Syracuse, Utah. Established in 2006, this endurance event attracts trail runners from the Mountain West region and beyond. The course features a mix of rolling singletrack and desert grasslands, offering participants views of the Great Salt Lake. It is common for runners to encounter herds of wild bison roaming the island during the event.

The race festival has grown from its original two distances into a multi-event program. Participants can choose between three primary distances:

  • 25k
  • 50k
  • 50M

Registration fees for the event contribute to park initiatives, including wildlife research, animal care, and the development of a new visitor center. While a 100-mile distance has been part of this event in the past, that specific race has been transitioned to a separate fall event. Detailed course information and registration remain open until late March. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
