Buffalo Run Trail Race

The Buffalo Run Trail Race takes place on Saturday, March 28, 2026, on Antelope Island near Syracuse, Utah (4528 W 1700 S, Syracuse, UT 84075). The course passes singletrack through desert grasslands and offers views of the Great Salt Lake. Herds of wild bison are present on parts of the route. The event began in 2006 with about 150 runners in the 25K and 50K and has since expanded to multiple distances.

Events and fees

The race program for 2026 includes the following distances:

  • 25K - $115
  • 50K - $150
  • 50M - $210

Prices increase after December 31, 2025 at 11:59pm MST. The organizer notes that park participant and special-use permit fees have risen; those fees are cited as a reason for higher entry prices. Historically there was a 100-mile race; that distance will be moved to the Fall Classic on Saturday, October 10, 2026. Additional race information is available from the event website listed by the organizer. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
