Buffalo Run Trail Race

The Buffalo Run Trail Race takes place in late March. The event is held on Antelope Island, located at 4528 W 1700 S in Syracuse, Utah.

Runners participate on a trail course featuring sweeping views of the Great Salt Lake, rolling singletrack through desert grasslands, and the potential to encounter herds of wild bison.

The event began in 2006 with approximately 150 runners. It now offers three race distances:

  • Buffalo Run Trail Race 25k
  • Buffalo Run Trail Race 50k
  • Buffalo Run Trail Race 50M

Race fees include a portion that supports the park through increased participant and permit fees. This funding aids initiatives such as wildlife research, animal care, and the construction of a new visitor center. The race distances 25K and 50K were part of the original event format.
