Brutal @ Spider Hill

  • 5 km shortened version of the 10 km course.
  • 10 km single lap including marshes and water features.

This event takes place at Spider Hill in Long Valley and uses a single 10 km lap that passes through named features such as Alligator Swamp, Swan Lake, the Muddy Mile and Duck Pond. The course includes a gentle run out to a steep climb, a sequence of climbs across open ground, a pair of marshes around the 5 km point, plus several wet and waterlogged sections. Runners encounter a very steep short uphill followed by a fast descent and additional testing hills before the finish. There is a viewpoint around the 8 km mark.

A 5 km option was added in 2022 as a shortened version of the main lap; it retains mud, water and hills in a reduced distance. Minimum ages are 10 for the 5 km and 13 for the 10 km, with juniors defined as under 18 on race day. Entry fees change by date with early bird and standard pricing for senior and junior categories. The organiser notes car sharing is available and the event arena is reached via a short drive up a track off Bourley Road; the What3words location for the entrance is ///barn.agents.entry. Entries close 23:59 on Thursday 19th November. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
