Course, awards and amenities

The course runs through Brookhaven State Park and begins near the park entrance off William Floyd Parkway. It includes a variety of trail conditions: single-track, fire trails, sandy sections, and areas near hidden ponds, and passes through protected woodlands in Suffolk County.

Half-marathon awards include a $150 cash prize to the top male and top female winners, awards to the top three male and female finishers overall, and top-three age-group awards in many age brackets (14 and under; 15-19; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; 70-74; 75-79; 80-84; 85+). Amenities include dry-fit long sleeve shirts for participants who pre-register by November 5, a custom wood finisher medal for half-marathoners, post-race refreshments, and a post-race awards ceremony. Published registration fees list lower pre-registration rates by November 15 and higher day-of-race rates. A referral refund of $6.00 is noted for referring one participant.
