Brookhaven Trail 15K and 4 Mile Trail Run

The Brookhaven Trail 15K and 4 Mile Trail Run takes place on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Brookhaven State Park in Wading River, NY. The event offers the following distances:

The course moves through a variety of trail conditions, including single-track and fire trails, sandy sections, and areas with hidden ponds. Both races begin near the park entrance off William Floyd Parkway and continue through protected woodlands in Suffolk County.

This is a cupless race. Participants are expected to bring a hydration belt or a foldable cup; a BPA free silicone cup is available to add during registration or to buy on race day for $5.

Entry is limited by the State Parks Department to 250 participants. Awards for each race include the top three male and female finishers overall and the top three males and females in multiple age groups, listed from 14 and under through 85 and older (age bands include 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85+).

Amenities for pre registered participants include high quality dry fit t-shirts if registered by April 8 at midnight, post race refreshments, and a post race awards ceremony. The event supports fundraising for Team Red White and Blue and collects non perishable food items for Island Harvest; donors are entered into a raffle for a free race entry. A 3 x 2 mile cross country relay at Sunken Meadow State Park in Kings Park, NY, marking the 47th running of the event. The program includes a youth division, a costume contest with prizes, post race refreshments and multiple age categories.

Looped hill races at Sunken Meadow State Park where the most distance in a three hour loop crowns the King and Queen, and a separate one hour event crowns the Prince and Princess.

Run or walk a 5K through the scenic Osprey's Dominion Vineyards in Peconic. Registration includes a wine glass, a medal that works as a wine stopper, and a pour of wine. The event is open to all ages and even welcomes leashed dogs.

A *5K* trail run/walk through Blydenburgh County Park on April 11, 2026 with in-person and virtual options, on-site refreshments and hydration, dog-friendly rules, and proceeds supporting Last Chance Animal Rescue.
