Event

The Brokenagan takes place on July 25, 2026 in Silver Star Provincial Park near Vernon, BC. The event offers three formats: a Backyard Ultra, a 24-hour solo endurance run, and a 24-hour 2-person team relay. The venue is at approximately 5,500 feet elevation.

Course

The course is a 4.17-mile loop on single and double track trails and ski trails. Terrain includes hard pack and grassy surfaces, forest, open meadows with wildflowers, marshy lowlands, and a mountain lake. The loop runs along the Sovereign Lake Nordic Club trails.

Registration and fees

Early registration (until January 31, 2026) is listed as CDN $100 per runner. Registration closes on July 17, 2026. Participants must be 18 years or older on race day; minors may participate with prior permission from the race director. T-shirt and meal options are available for additional fees. Teams register as two-person relays with each member registering and paying individually; the first registrant creates the official team name.

Support and amenities

Aid stations are provided each lap and include water, electrolytes, snacks, and first aid. The event staging area offers space for participant tents and access to massage therapy.
