Brian Waterbury Memorial Rock to Pier Run
The event takes place on July 18, 2026 in Morro Bay and features shoreline courses that run between Morro Rock and the Cayucos Pier. Races include multiple distance options and a virtual participation choice that can be completed from any location.

- 13.1 miles Rock’n Around the Pier Half Marathon
Courses follow the coastline and include true beach running; participants should expect wet shoes. Water and aid stations are placed throughout the routes. The half marathon is an out and back course that includes a detour through Cloisters Park near mile 10.5. Bus transportation is provided from Cayucos Pier back to Morro Rock for Rock to Pier participants. Parking is limited in Cayucos with more parking available at Morro Rock.
Pre-packet pickup is scheduled for Friday, July 17 at the Morro Bay Community Center; packets include race bibs, timing chips if applicable, and event information. There is a post race breakfast and awards at Morro Rock. Limited shirt sizes may be available. Dogs are not allowed on the course due to Snowy Plover nesting season. The virtual option allows participants to run or walk six miles between July 1 and July 31, submit a time, and follow local public health and traffic rules.
