Box Hill Vertical KM

This is a guided trail run based at Stepping Stones Car Park, Box Hill, Dorking, Surrey. The route covers 12.5 miles and gains approx. 1000 m of elevation, using trails designed to concentrate ascent into a relatively short distance without repeating hill intervals.

The run moves through woodland, heathland and open fields. Some sections are technical and include short scrambles on hands and knees to reach summits. The group will maintain a steady, non-competitive pace and pause at the top of climbs when needed.

A qualified guide, with experience in trail and ultra running plus mountain leadership and coaching, will lead the route and provide guidance on navigation and technique. Participants are expected to be able to sustain roughly 10 min per mile or 6 min per km on trails for prolonged periods and have an appropriate level of fitness.

Practical details provided by the organiser include a full kit list before the event, on-site parking and proximity to a train station by a short run or taxi. There is a participation fee of £19 per person. Trail shoes from Salomon may be available to test.
