Box Hill Vertical KM

Box Hill Vertical KM is a guided trail run taking place in Box Hill, Dorking, Surrey on Saturday 3 May 2026 and Saturday 5 December 2026. The route covers 12.5 miles with approximately 1000 metres of elevation and the advertised cost is £19 per person. Participants meet at Stepping Stones Car Park, Box Hill.

The run focuses on hill terrain and follows trails through woodland, heathland and open fields. The route is designed to accumulate over 1000 metres of climbing in a short distance. Sections include technical climbs and occasional scrambling on hands and knees. The event does not include hill repeats.

This is run as a group rather than a race, led by an experienced guide who is a trail and ultra runner, mountain leader, qualified guide and coach. Participants should be able to maintain an average pace of about 10 minutes per mile or 6 minutes per kilometre for extended periods on trail and have a suitable level of fitness.

Practical details: parking is available at the meeting point and the location is a short run or taxi ride from a train station. A full kit list will be provided before the event. Trail shoes are available to test and an alcohol free beer may be supplied at the end of the run subject to availability. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
