Box Hill Vertical KM

Dorking, United Kingdom • 5 Dec 2026

Event details

This is a guided trail run at Box Hill, Dorking, Surrey, taking place on Saturday 3 May 2026 and Saturday 5 December 2026. The meeting point is Stepping Stones Car Park, Box Hill. The route covers 12.5 miles with approximately 1000 m of elevation. The stated cost is £19 per person. Parking is available and the location is a short run or taxi ride from a train station. The run is led by an experienced trail and ultra runner who is a qualified guide and coach. Participants should be able to sustain an average trail pace of about 10 min/mile (6 min/km) for prolonged periods.

Route and logistics

The route focuses on hills and uses woodland, heathland and open fields. It is designed to accumulate over 1000 m of ascent in a relatively short distance. Some sections are technical and may require scrambling on hands and knees; the organiser notes the route does not include hill repetitions. The run is organised as a group experience rather than a race and will be held at a steady pace with pauses on climbs if needed. A full kit list is provided before the event and trail shoes are available to test. A non-alcoholic beer may be offered at the end of the run, subject to availability.
