Box Hill Vertical KM

Box Hill Vertical KM is a guided trail run focused on uphill terrain. The route explores Box Hill and surrounding areas, moving through woodland, heathland and open fields. It is designed to gain over 1000 metres of elevation in as short a distance as possible. The route does not include hill repetitions.

Some sections are technical and require scrambling on hands and knees to reach summits. The group runs at a steady pace with pauses at the top of climbs; the event is organized and run as a group rather than a timed race. Participants should be able to maintain an average trail pace of about 10 minutes per mile or 6 minutes per kilometre for prolonged periods and have a suitable level of fitness.

A full kit list is provided to participants. Trail shoes from Salomon, including Sense Ride and Speedcross models, are available to test; sizes must be stated during registration if testing is requested. Parking is available near the meeting point. Running Adventures organises the event and operates from Guildford, Surrey.

An alcohol free beer from Days Brewing Company may be offered at the end of the run subject to availability. If the event is cancelled by the organiser due to COVID-19, participants will be offered a refund or a transfer to a later event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
