Box Hill Vertical KM is a guided trail run around Box Hill, Dorking, Surrey. The route is about 12.5 miles long with approximately 1000 metres of elevation gain. The course runs through woodland, heathland and open fields and includes technical climbs that may require scrambling on hands and knees. The route is designed to accumulate over 1000 metres of ascent in a short distance and does not use hill repetitions. The event is run as a group rather than a race.

Logistics and requirements

The event is organised by Running Adventures, based in Guildford, Surrey. Entry cost is listed as £19 per person. Participants should be able to sustain an average pace of about 10 minutes per mile (6 minutes per kilometre) on trails for prolonged periods. A full kit list will be provided before the run and certain trail shoes are available to test.
