Bound for the Hounds 6 Hour Ultra

The Bound for the Hounds 6 Hour Ultra is a distance race held in Shortsville, New York. The event takes place on the Manchester Gateway Trail and serves as a fundraiser to support a local dog park. Participants are given a fixed time limit to complete their chosen distance on the course.

The race course consists of a 2.3 mile out-and-back loop. The surface is composed of packed cinder and pavement, similar to a canal path. The terrain features gentle rolling hills throughout the trail. Participants have several options for participation:

The event provides a fully stocked aid station for all participants. Available supplies include water, Gatorade, soda, coffee, and warm broth with rice. A variety of sweet and salty snacks, such as pickles, are also provided.

A raffle is held during the event with various prizes available. The proceeds from the raffle benefit Gordy and Friends. Payments for the raffle can be made using cash or Venmo.

Canine companions are permitted to join the participants during the event. Dogs must be well-behaved and kept on a leash at all times.
