Distances
- 50K Ultra
- 10.5 mile (16k) Fun Run
The course has unfenced cliff tops and marked turns using blue surveyor flags. Runners must return to the Start/Finish area at the end of each lap and 50K participants must have their bib noted by the Start/Finish marshal before starting subsequent laps. The only aid station is at the Start/Finish area; there are no on-course aid stations, so participants must be self supporting. Typical lap times range from two to four hours.
Mandatory equipment is checked before each lap and includes items such as a windproof or waterproof jacket, warm mid layer, warm head covering and gloves, a foil blanket, whistle, at least 200 calories of instant energy, and a headlamp when starting a later lap. Time limits include 6.5 hours to complete the first two laps and a total course limit of 10.5 hours. Entrants are capped to protect fragile ecosystems and wait lists open automatically when races fill. Local lodging is available within a 30 to 45 minute drive.
