Blood Rock 100 and Blood Rock series at Oak Mountain State Park

Blood Rock is a trail race weekend held at Oak Mountain State Park, with races centered at the Cabins on Tranquility Lake. The Blood Rock 100 is scheduled for December 4–6, 2026. The 50 mile, 50K and 25K races take place on December 5, 2026.

The courses use extensive singletrack and include backcountry sections of the park. The Blood Rock 100 lists 17,196 ft of elevation gain and loss and is composed mostly of single track with short gravel and paved sections; the 50 mile lists 8,659 ft of gain and loss. The route passes Summit Lake, Demopolis Lake and Belcher Lake, and includes a notable climb called Crack-in-the-Wall. Aid stations are placed approximately every 5–7 miles and provide hot soup, hot food overnight, cold drinks and breakfast in the early hours.

  • Blood Rock 100 - 101.79 miles; 17,196 ft elevation gain and loss.
  • Blood Rock 50 - 51.19 miles; 8,659 ft elevation gain and loss.
  • Blood Rock 50K - 31.18 miles; 5,345 ft elevation gain and loss.
  • Blood Rock 25K - 16.62 miles; 2,885 ft elevation gain and loss.

The 100 is two full laps of the new Blood Rock course and the 50 is one full lap. The 50K follows the North Loop including the Belcher Tract; the 25K visits Summit and Demopolis Lakes and splits from longer courses near King’s Chair.

An overnight 50 mile lap race at Hoover Sports Park East run on a 2.5 mile loop; finish within 16 hours to earn a custom belt buckle. Aid is available each lap and pacers and crew setups are permitted outside the course.

A Fourth of July tradition at Oak Mountain State Park, the 45th Peavine Falls Run features a chip-timed 8.2 mile race and race shirts, with registration details and a listed fee.

A 7.4 mile trail run in Pelham, Alabama on July 4, 2026 that reaches King’s Chair on Double Oak Mountain. The third edition includes participant swag and a post-race gathering. Registration closes July 1.

A 2 mile cross country time trial at Veterans Park in Hoover, Alabama on July 21, 2026. Separate boys, girls, and open heats with individual entry fee $20 and team discounts for groups of five or more.
