Blood Rock 100 and supporting races

Blood Rock takes place at Oak Mountain State Park with the Meeting Center at the Cabins on Tranquility Lake used as the start and finish area. The event offers multiple trail race options that use new and backcountry sections of the park, including parts of the Belcher Tract.

The course features ridge-top views, valley floors, closed gravel roadway sections, single-track trails, secluded pools and waterfalls, and a notable climb known as the Crack-in-the-Wall that leads to Summit Lake. Aid stations are placed approximately every 5 to 7 miles and provide hot soup, hot food overnight, cold drinks (participants should bring a cup), and breakfast in the early hours.

  • Blood Rock 100: 101.79 miles, 17,196 ft gain and loss, two full laps, mostly single-track.
  • Blood Rock 50 Mile: 51.19 miles, 8,659 ft gain and loss, one full lap.
  • Blood Rock 50K: 31.18 miles, 5,345 ft gain and loss, one lap of the North Loop including the Belcher Tract.
  • Blood Rock 25K: 16.62 miles, 2,885 ft gain and loss, passes Summit Lake and Demopolis Lake.

Registration details note shirt order deadlines in October and November and state that there will be no late or on-site race registration. Refund and rollover policies allow full refunds up to 30 days before registration closes; later cancellations may be rolled over or credited for future events. In cases of cancellation due to factors beyond the organizer's control, refunds are available up to 30 days prior, with entries rolled over afterward.
