About the Race

The Blood Rock 100 is a trail running event offering four distances: the 100-mile, 50-mile, 50K (31.18 miles), and 25K (16.62 miles) races. All events are part of the Southeastern Trail Runs series and take place within Oak Mountain State Park in Alabama, starting and finishing at the Meeting Center in the Cabins on Tranquility Lake.

Course Details

The 100-mile race involves two laps of the course, while the 50-mile and 50K races complete one lap. The 25K traverses a portion of the full course. The routes explore a variety of terrain within the state park, including ridge-top views, valley floors, and backcountry trails. Significant portions of the courses are on single-track trails, with some sections on gravel and paved roads closed to cars. Key landmarks along the route include the Crack-in-the-Wall climb and several lakes within the Belcher Tract, such as Summit Lake, Demopolis Lake, and Belcher Lake.

Elevation gain and loss for the races are substantial, with the 100-mile featuring 17,196 feet of gain, the 50-mile featuring 8,659 feet, the 50K featuring 5,345 feet, and the 25K featuring 2,885 feet.

Event Support

Aid stations are provided approximately every 5 to 7 miles. Support includes hot food, soup, cold drinks, and breakfast during overnight hours. Runners are encouraged to bring their own cup.

Registration Information

Registration is handled through Ultrasignup and closes on a specified date before the event; there is no late registration or on-site registration. A 50% discount is available for high school students and younger using a provided code. Refunds or credits are available under specified conditions prior to the event.
