Blackdown Hill Challenge

The Blackdown Hill Challenge is a trail running event organised by Midhurst Milers with Fernhurst Recreation Ground Trust. It takes place on 18 October 2026 at The Pavilion, Fernhurst Recreation Ground, postcode GU27 3HY. The main course runs from Fernhurst Recreation Ground to the Temple of the Winds on Blackdown and includes a climb of 866 ft. The route provides views across Sussex, Surrey and Hampshire.

The event is licenced by the Trail Running Association and held under UK Athletics rules. Courses are fully marked and the venue offers parking on site, a water station and toilets. The recreation ground lies adjacent to the Red Lion pub and village green. By road, Fernhurst is approximately 3 miles south of Haslemere on the A286 and 5 miles north of Midhurst.

All entries must be made online; no entries are available on the day. Adult participants must be at least 16 years old. The adult race does not permit canicross and dogs are not allowed on the course. Junior and school team races are held separately under the event programme.

Run the Seasons at Cowdray on 26 June 2026 offers 3km and 5km races plus a 10km with dog friendly CaniRun options. The event includes stacking medals, course maps, free photos and an on site BBQ and bar.

The Maverick North Downs Trail will take place in Cranleigh on Saturday 27 June 2026. You can run between 6 and 53 kilometers.

Mixed-surface off-road run at Matterley Estate on 27 June 2026, offering 10 km and 21 km routes through gravel tracks, woodland and open paths. The event includes chip timing, an exclusive medal and on site catering.
