Black Squirrel Half

The Black Squirrel Half Marathon is a 13.5-mile trail race held in Lory State Park near Fort Collins, Colorado. Featuring approximately 2,000 feet of elevation gain and loss, the course offers a challenging yet accessible experience on a mix of dirt singletrack and road terrain. Runners ascend nearly 1,500 feet over four miles to the course apex at 7,000 feet, enjoying stunning views of Horsetooth Reservoir, Fort Collins, the Great Plains, and the Rocky Mountains.
The race includes well-stocked aid stations, a 5.5-hour time limit, and a post-race pancake breakfast with awards. A free one-mile kids race is also offered. The event is capped at 400 participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
