Black Squirrel Half

The Black Squirrel Half Marathon is a 13.5-mile trail race held in Lory State Park near Fort Collins, Colorado. Featuring approximately 2,000 feet of elevation gain and loss, the course offers a challenging yet accessible perimeter tour of the park with stunning views of Horsetooth Reservoir, Fort Collins, the Great Plains, and the Rocky Mountains. Runners traverse 12 miles of dirt singletrack and 1 mile of dirt road, including a significant climb to the west ridge and a technical descent. The event includes a free one-mile kids race and provides aid stations, a post-race breakfast, awards, and a supportive atmosphere. The race is capped at 400 participants.
