Distances and Courses

The event offers four trail running distances.

  • 100 Miler: The course starts and ends at City Park in Sturgis. It is approximately 108 miles, running from Sturgis to Silver City and back. It primarily uses the Centennial Trail and the Deerfield Trail, with the first and last mile on a paved bike path.
  • 50 Miler: This race starts in Silver City and runs to Sturgis, following the second half of the 100-mile course.
  • 50K: The course starts near the Dalton Lake Trailhead and runs north to Sturgis on the Centennial Trail.
  • 30K: This course starts along Runkle Road, joins the Centennial Trail at the Elk Creek trailhead, and finishes in Sturgis.

Course Details

All courses use trail systems managed by the US Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management. The terrain is mostly singletrack trail with some sections of old logging roads and ATV trail. Each distance has multiple aid stations. Drop bags are allowed at specific aid stations for the 100M, 50M, and 50K races.

Logistics

All races finish at Sturgis City Park. Bus transportation is provided from Sturgis to the start lines for the 50M, 50K, and 30K races on Saturday morning. Packet pickup is at the Sturgis RV Park & Campground the day before each race.

Registration

Registration is open from September 1, 2025, through May 31, 2026. The registration fees are:

  • 100M: $350
  • 50M: $170
  • 50K: $150
  • 30K: $130
