Event Overview
The Binevenagh mountain run takes place in County Derry. It is organized by NIMRA as part of the IMRA Ulster Championships and the NIMRA League.
Course Details
The race covers a distance of 11.90 km with a total climb of 870 m. The event difficulty is rated as 3 (Easy Terrain, <200M ascent, <6Km). The course is marked only at major junctions, and the use of GPS devices is not allowed.
Mandatory Kit
All participants must bring a specified set of equipment, known as Level B - Standard Mandatory Kit. This includes:
- Waterproof jacket
- Hat or buff
- Gloves
- Whistle
- Charged mobile phone with an emergency number stored
- Foil blanket, bivvy bag, or equivalent
Runners must have the means to carry all kit during the race if required. The final decision on what must be carried on the day will be made based on conditions and announced at registration. Random kit checks may be conducted, and failure to present the required items may result in denied entry or disqualification.
Participation and Volunteering
To be included in the overall championship or league results for the IMRA Ulster Championships or NIMRA League, runners must have valid 2026 membership for the respective organizations before entering their first race.
