Giant's Causeway 20 Mile Coastal Trail Run

The Giant's Causeway event is a 20 mile trail running race held in Portrush on 10 April 2027. The route follows the Causeway Coast Way and lies entirely within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Runners pass the Giant's Causeway, a UNESCO Heritage Site with around 40,000 interlocking basalt columns, and the course includes dramatic cliffs, sandy beaches and ancient castle ruins. The terrain is described as moderate and consists of grass, trail, beach and coastpath underfoot.

The recorded ascent for the course is 2,276 feet. The event lists course records of 02:22:36 for men and 02:42:16 for women. The event is noted as a UTMB qualifier.

This race is part of the Endurancelife 2026-27 trail running season. Competitors who complete a distance at the event receive points that contribute to the Season Leaderboard. Registered participants will be asked to complete an online check in approximately two weeks before the event, which includes confirming personal details such as an ICE contact and watching the mandatory event safety video. Part of the Heart of the Glens Festival, the Lurig Challenge Run is a **3.8 mile** off-road out-and-back to the 1073 ft summit of Lurig. The event had limited entry and is now full.

A four day marathon and half marathon event along Inishowen on the Wild Atlantic Way, covering 105 miles of coastline. Separate routes run each day and participants can choose full or half marathon distances over one to four days.
