Billings Skyline Races

The Billings Skyline Races take place on a variety of paved paths and trails within Billings, Montana. The event offers two distinct distances for participants:

  • 30K (18.6 miles)
  • Half Marathon (13.1 miles)

The course begins by taking runners to the top of the sandstone Rimrocks. The route includes the Skyline Trail, which follows a sandstone ridge and provides views of the Yellowstone Valley and the Beartooth Mountains. The path features moderate elevation changes throughout these early sections.

Participants then move onto Skyway Drive, a newer segment of the course characterized by rolling hills, gentle curves, and open terrain. Both race distances then utilize the Alkali Creek Trail. This specific section follows a creek bed and provides a shaded environment for the runners. The final portion of the course leads toward the finish line located at Two Moon Park.

The event occurs on paved paths and is designed for various experience levels. Registration for these races typically opens in late November of the preceding year. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
