29th Annual Chief Joseph Uphill Run

The Chief Joseph Uphill Run is a recurring athletic event held in Laurel, Montana. The course begins at Thomson Park on 6th Street. From the starting point, the route leads participants through the hills located north of the town before returning to finish back at the park.

Participants can select from three different course distances:

  • 2-mile run
  • 4-mile run
  • 8-mile run

The event center and primary location for race day activities is the Thomson Park Shelter. Registration completed by late June includes a commemorative T-shirt.

Packet pickup is available on multiple days prior to the event at the Laurel Chamber of Commerce on East Main Street. For those unable to attend the early pickup window, the organizers also provide packet collection on the morning of the race at Thomson Park. Experience a unique winter race series in Billings where staggered starts level the playing field for all speeds. Complete four races from 4 km to 10 km to earn points toward overall series cash prizes.

A multi-distance trail run in Billings' Phipps Park. It features a no-paper-cup policy and awards cash prizes for top finishers across its 2, 4, 6, and 8-mile events. The race also supports local trails with a donation from every entry.

Montana Cup is a team based cross country meet in Billings, Montana featuring men's and women's age divisions, residency based teams, and a 5k to 8k course over rough terrain. Teams compete for a traveling trophy and individual awards.
