Trail Running in Phipps Park

The Quitcherbitchen' Trail Run takes place in Phipps Park, located west of Billings, Montana. This event features multiple distances on park trails, providing participants with various options to test their skills on natural terrain. The race is designed for both runners and walkers, with specific course layouts for different experience levels.

Participants can choose from four distinct trail distances:

  • 8 Miles
  • 6 Miles
  • 4 Miles
  • 2 Miles

The 2 mile course is intended for participants with limited trail running experience. Walkers are permitted in the 4 mile and 6 mile distances, starting in the final wave of those respective events. Walkers are not permitted to participate in the 8 mile race.

The event utilizes a "Beast" section on the course, where the first five men and five women to reach the top and ring the "Oh Hell Bell" in the 4 mile, 6 mile, and 8 mile races receive a cash prize.

This is a cup-less event to support environmental protection. While one water and aid station is provided along the course, participants must carry their own hydration packs or water bottles. The 406 Race Series contributes two dollars from every registration fee toward local trail maintenance and education initiatives. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers in each distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
