BigXmas Trail Festival

Sale, United Kingdom • 14 Dec 2025

The BigXmas Trail Festival is an annual trail running event held at Sale Water Park in Greater Manchester, blending urban and rural landscapes. Now in its fourth year, it offers three race distances: 11km, half marathon, and marathon. The courses are fully marked and marshalled, suitable for both beginners and experienced runners.

The marathon route follows the Trans Pennine Trail to Little Bollington and returns via the Bridgewater Canal. Participants enjoy well-stocked aid stations, festive treats like mulled wine and mince pies at the finish, and a bespoke medal or the option to plant a tree instead. The event features a friendly, energetic atmosphere and scenic views. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
