Course and support
The 100-mile course is an out-and-back route through the Little Bighorn and Tongue River areas of the Bighorn National Forest. It includes about 76 miles of technical single-track, 16 miles of 2-track jeep trail, and 8 miles of gravel road, with over 20,500 feet of ascent and 20,750 feet of descent. Runners have 34 hours to complete the course. Some backcountry stretches are up to 18 miles with limited access.
The course is marked with orange flagging, white powder arrows, reflective tape, and glow sticks. Volunteers staff aid stations and provide first aid and supplies. Wildlife on the course may include elk, deer, moose, black bear, mountain lions, and rattlesnakes. Runners are responsible for carrying necessary equipment and preparing for remote, changing mountain conditions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
