Turkey Shuffle - Oklahoma City
The Turkey Shuffle is a running event scheduled for November in Oklahoma City. The proposed venue is Stars & Stripes Park.
The event offers several distances:
- A Kids Dash of approximately 50 meters for children aged 10 and under.
- A 1 Mile Run.
- A timed 5K Run (3.1 miles).
- A timed 10K Run (6.22 miles).
- A Virtual Run option.
All finishers receive a race medal and a T-shirt. The Kids Dash also includes an exclusive recognition pin. The 5K and 10K races feature chip timing, overall trophies for male and female winners, awards for Masters (age 40+), and age group awards for numerous categories. There is youth-based pricing for the 5K and 10K for participants 12 and under.
The event includes a Thanksgiving-themed costume contest with prizes. DJ Sasquatch provides music, and aid stations are located on the course. Post-race snacks and refreshments are available. The course primarily uses paved trails in parks and greenbelts, but may also include sections of crushed granite or dirt paths.
Volunteer opportunities are available in various roles, with incentives such as a race shirt, a souvenir medal, and a free future race entry or gift card.
