Event

Benfleet 15 is a 15 mile trail race held on 18 January 2026 with Hadleigh Country Park, Chapel Lane, Hadleigh, Essex (SS7 2PP) as the race HQ. The event is run by Benfleet Running Club and is open to entrants aged 18 and over on the race date. The 2026 race will use chip timing. Entries open from 01/10/2025 and advance online fees are shown around £31–£33; on-the-day entries may be £35 (cash only and subject to availability). The race is organised under UK competition rules with a UKA licence applied for. Included items noted in the event information are a bespoke medal, free photographs after the event, and prizes for leading runner categories.

Course and logistics

The course is a multi-terrain, undulating route of 15 miles that includes sections of the 2012 Olympic mountain bike course, the Canvey Island sea wall, and Hadleigh Downs. The route may include muddy and slippery off-road surfaces and is not suitable for spikes or wheelchair competitors. Detailed route maps and GPX files are available from the organiser. The race is cup-less: water will be provided at stations but no disposable cups will be supplied, so runners must bring or purchase a reusable receptacle. Parking at the country park is limited; organisers list nearby free parking locations and request that participants follow marshal and security instructions. Runners are responsible for being fit to compete and should seek medical advice if in doubt. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
