Bakewell, United Kingdom • 22 Mar 2026

Event information

The TFG Beer & Pudding Races take place on 22 March 2026 at Thornbridge Brewery in Bakewell (DE45 1GS). The event is organised by Trails For Good and is held under UK Athletics rules with a licence from the Trail Running Association. Entries open 10 September 2025 and close 20 March 2026. Participants must be 18 or older. Entry numbers at the time of listing were 80 participants. Entry fees vary by distance and affiliation status.

Course and logistics

The event uses fully waymarked trail courses with varied terrain and scenic sections around Bakewell. Distances offered:

  • 7 km - 100 m ascent
  • 13.5 km - 260 m ascent

Participants select a 10 minute start window when registering and the event operates a small-group wave start approach to space runners on the trails. The routes climb out of town and return via a long, gentle descent along the Monsal Trail and beside the River Wye. The longer route includes an additional climb and a descent through woodland that rejoins the short route. Long course runners must carry mandatory kit; short course runners must wear kit appropriate for terrain and conditions. The event finishes at the Thornbridge Brewery Tap Room where participants receive a beer and a Bakewell pudding. A proportion of entry fees is allocated to local businesses and charities.
