The TFG Beer & Pudding Races

The TFG Beer & Pudding Races

The TFG Beer & Pudding Races take place in the market town of Bakewell within the Peak District. This trail running event features a choice of two fully waymarked courses that start and finish at the Thornbridge Brewery Tap Room. The event is held under UK Athletics rules and is licensed by the Trail Running Association.

Participants can choose between two distances:

  • 7 km with 100 m of ascent.
  • 13.5 km with 260 m of ascent.

The routes consist of various terrains and scenery, including a climb out of the town followed by a descent back to Bakewell along the Monsal trail and the River Wye. Runners on the 13.5 km route navigate an additional climb and a descent through woodland before merging with the shorter course. Both distances utilize a waved start approach where participants select a specific 10 minute start window during registration.

Upon completing the course, participants receive a beer and a Bakewell pudding at the event headquarters. The minimum age for entry is 18 years old. Mandatory kit requirements apply for the 13.5 km distance, while runners on the 7 km course are required to wear clothing and footwear appropriate for the terrain and conditions. A portion of the entry fee is donated to local businesses and charities in the Peak District. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
