Beer Blazer 10 Mile, 6M & Fun Run
The Beer Blazer is a multi-terrain running event held in Beer, East Devon. Established in 2012, the race is organized by the Beer Primary School PTFA as a not-for-profit event to support the school. The course starts in the fields above Pecorama and concludes at Beer C of E Primary School.
Participants can choose from three distinct distances:
- 10 Mile: A trail route with over 1600ft of elevation.
- 6 Mile: A shorter multi-terrain course using similar coastal terrain.
- 1 Mile Fun Run: An untimed event for all ages.
The 10 mile route includes a variety of surfaces such as fields, tracks, cliff tops, and open common land. It features the pebble beach between Branscombe and Beer Head, the Undercliffs, and the section known as the stairway to heaven. The course offers views of the Jurassic Coast. For the 2026 edition, the routes have been updated to bypass the rocky fields at the beginning of the race.
The event operates under ARC rules for multi-terrain running. A cut-off time of 30 minutes is enforced at the 2 mile water station for the 10 mile participants; those not meeting this limit are redirected to the 6 mile route. On-site facilities at the school include a BBQ and refreshments.
Prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in the 10 mile race, along with a team prize. The 6 mile race awards prizes to the first male and female finishers, while all fun run participants receive a memento. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
