Bee the Light 5K

Bee the Light 5K is the fifth annual race presented by The Shelby Foundation for Kindness Delivered. The event takes place at Southeastway Park in Indianapolis and uses a paved trail within the park. The course runs through areas that include bike trails, a playground, shelters, an education center, wooded areas, and a pond.

The race is held in memory of a person who passed away in early 2022. One hundred percent of registration proceeds will be donated to the International Rett Syndrome Foundation. Rett syndrome is described as an incurable neurologic disorder that primarily affects girls and women and can lead to significant disability.

The main distance is 3.1 Miles. The event will be timed and scored by Bodies Race Company, with results posted as runners cross the finish. Top male and female finishers will receive awards. Registration includes a race T-shirt, bib, medal, swag bag, and photos. The listed registration fee for the event is $35. Registration opens March 28, 2026 and closes September 16, 2026.
