The Bear Brook Trail Races take place at Bear Brook State Park in Allenstown, New Hampshire. The event program for 2026 includes an ultramarathon and a half marathon held on park trails. The organizer notes the longest distance will be called the Bear Brook Trail Ultramarathon going forward.
Distances
- Ultramarathon : variable distance, likely between 50k and 100k.
- Half Marathon : laid out to be as close to 13.1 miles as possible.
The 2026 course will be provided as GPX files only and there will be minimal to no course markings. Entrants are required to download and follow the GPX to navigate the route. The exact ultramarathon course will be released in advance of the race and may change year to year.
Trail terrain includes single track, steep uphills, and blueberry fields. Aid stations do not supply disposable cups; participants must carry their own bottles or soft flasks for refilling. Pets are not allowed to run with participants, and crews and pacers are not permitted.
There is no cutoff for the half marathon. Ultramarathon cutoff details will be provided when the course is released. Runners who withdraw must check in at the nearest aid station and turn in their bib to be recorded as dropped; failure to do so can result in a ban from future races.
The event base is 157 Deerfield Road. Camping in the park is available and Concord and Manchester are the nearest larger towns. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
