Beacon Beast Marathon & The Beastly Half

The Beacon Beast event on 25 April 2027 in Bodmin comprises two multi terrain races created by the parishes of Bodmin, Nanstallon, Lanivet, Lanhydrock and Cardinham Churches. Registration is at Shire House, Priory Park, Bodmin PL31 2DQ.

The route follows The Bodmin Way and public footpaths, passing Lanhydrock National Trust Estate, Redmoor Nature Reserve, The Saint's Way and Helman Tor, The Beacon Nature Reserve, Cardinham Woods, Lanivet, Nanstallon, Cardinham Village and Bodmin. The course uses a mix of local roads, trails and muddy sections and includes stiles and notable local features such as bluebell displays at Lanhydrock and Lamorick and fields where lambs may be present.

Aid stations are staffed by volunteers from local community groups and are based at the local churches, with the Lanhydrock station in the main car park. Organisers supply a written route description and a GPX file. The final mile of both races runs downhill and finishes with a climb back up the steps to St Petroc's church. Finishers receive a bespoke medal, may collect a t shirt if not taken at registration, and are offered a complimentary drink provided by the church with donations welcome. The half marathon forms part of the local Multi Terrain Running Series 2027. The minimum age for entry is 18 years. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.

Annual Saturday evening multi terrain race in Tywardreath, Cornwall, featuring a 6.79 miles race and a 1 mile fun run supporting local charities.

A 5.75 mile multi-terrain run on 28 July 2026 from the Millpool Centre through West Looe riverside and Kilminorth and Trelawne Woods, with proceeds to Looe Lions charities.

Portmellon Trail is a new 12 km trail run on 16 August 2026 around the coastal village of Portmellon and the Wet Bodrugan nature reserve. The course is described as fun, technical and challenging and the entry fee is 20 GBP.

Join the Gt. Links Tor Flyer on Dartmoor for a challenging 7.5 km fell race with 388 m of climb, finishing at the Fox & Hounds in Lydford. Open to seniors and juniors with pre and on the day entry.
