Bay 2 Bankers 5K & 10K

Bay 2 Bankers is a map-based urban navigation event in San Francisco that uses custom maps to guide participants between checkpoints. The course begins at Andrea's Fountain in Ghirardelli Square (900 North Point St., San Francisco, CA 94109; GPS 37.805945, -122.422537) and winds through several classic city neighborhoods as part of a mystery theme celebrating San Francisco vibes.

Teams of one to five people or solo entrants use a provided map at a 1:3000 or 1:4000 scale to find checkpoint locations marked as circles. At each checkpoint participants tag an issued chip on a timing station. Typical checkpoint counts are about ten for the 5K and about fifteen for the 10K.

The event is held rain or shine; closed-toed shoes, hats, and sunblock are recommended. After returning from the finish there are snacks, drinks, and socializing. Note that the finish area is roughly 0.9 to 1.0 miles from the start, about a 20 minute walk or a 10 minute jog back to the start area.

Gender divisions include Women, Men, and Mixed; age divisions include Junior, Open, Masters (average age 40+), and Family. Online and day-of registration are available, and a season pass option can register participants automatically and provide a discount for multiple events.
