Bay 2 Bankers 5K and 10K map adventure, San Francisco

This event is a map-based mystery course that starts at Andrea's Fountain in Ghirardelli Square, 900 North Point St., San Francisco. Teams of one to five people navigate from checkpoint to checkpoint using a custom map. The event celebrates classic San Francisco neighborhoods and uses a themed mystery format.

Participants receive a custom map at check-in with a scale of 1:3000 or 1:4000. Checkpoints are shown as circles on the map; competitors find the center of each circle and tag an issued chip at timing stations. The approximate number of checkpoints is about ten for the 5K and about fifteen for the 10K. Courses are outdoors and operate rain or shine.

Distances:

  • 5K course with about 10 checkpoints.
  • 10K course with about 15 checkpoints.

Age divisions include Junior, Open, Masters (average age 40+), and Family. Gender divisions are Women, Men, and Mixed. Teams submit a single answer sheet with team name and member names at the finish. After finishing, snacks, drinks, and socializing are provided. Participants are advised to wear closed-toed shoes and to bring sun protection or rain gear as needed. The finish area is roughly 0.9 to 1.0 miles from the start by walking or jogging. Online registration, a 2026 season pass option, and day-of registration are available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
