Quad Dipsea
Quad Dipsea is a 28.4 mile race in Mill Valley, California on November 28, 2026. The route contains about 9,000 feet of vertical gain and is run entirely on the Dipsea Trail.
The course begins at Old Mill Park and quickly climbs multiple flights of stairs, then rises through an old horse ranch to Windy Gap. It descends into Muir Woods, crosses Redwood Creek, and climbs through trail sections named Dynamite, The Hogsback, The Rainforest, and Cardiac. From the top of Cardiac the route levels with ocean views before dropping through Steep Ravine and the short climb up Insult Hill, then follows The Moors toward Stinson Beach.
Runners reach Stinson Beach, turn around, and return to Old Mill Park on the same route. That round trip is repeated to complete the full Quad distance.
Aid stations are located at Cardiac Hill, Stinson Beach, and Old Mill Park. Because much of the course is single track, pacers and hiking or trekking poles are not permitted. Shortcuts are not allowed; participants must stay on the Dipsea Trail. Registration closes October 1 and a wait list is used with the entrant list finalized by November 10. The event uses cutoffs at key points including the halfway turnaround, departure from Stinson Beach, and the finish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
