Two Tunnels Railway Races
The Two Tunnels Railway Races take place in Bath and use the Two Tunnels shared use path that runs beneath the city. The route passes through the Devonshire Tunnel (408 m) and the Combe Down Tunnel (1,672 m). The tunnels were reopened in April 2013 after being sealed since 1966 and are now well lit and well surfaced for runners, walkers and cyclists.
Events are scheduled for 7 June 2026, 16 August 2026 and 21 February 2027. Distances and formats offered include a mix of fun runs, road races, a marathon, several half marathons, a 50 km solo and pair option and a 5 x 10 km relay. Some distances have multiple route options known as Tickets.

Courses use a variety of surfaces: mostly tarmac on Return Ticket routes, mixed tarmac and trails on Hilly Ticket routes, and city surfaces including canal towpath on City Ticket routes. The events are affiliated to UK Athletics; the 5 km, Return Ticket 10 km, Return Ticket Half Marathon and 50 km are officially measured. The marathon is not officially measured and is not eligible for London Marathon qualification.
Facilities include on site toilets, food and coffee vans, bike racking and a bag drop. There is no on site parking; park and ride is recommended. Feed stations and finish refreshments provide water, electrolyte and a range of snacks including gluten free and vegan options. Cutoffs include a 3 hour limit to start lap two of the marathon and an 8.5 hour cutoff for the 50 km. The event contributes £1 per runner to Sustrans and has raised over £30,000 to date. Buggy runners are permitted on certain routes; canicross is not allowed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
